To ensure the most durable “showroom shine” finish possible, our paint specialists undertake a multi-step process in the preparation of your vehicle for painting. First, a variety of cleaners and etchers are applied to condition the surface and to ensure adhesion of the paint system. Primers are then applied to fill crevices and protect against corrosion and rust. Lastly, after sanding, another primer/sealer is applied to provide a uniform, satin-smooth surface.
The finish work is the most vital step in restoring the look of your vehicle. Special care is taken to achieve a smooth perfectly matched paint application. Widely regarded as the best auto paint in the industry, Mcdonald Auto Body uses only PPG automobile body paints and performance coatings. In combination with our computerized paint matching and measuring system (also developed by PPG), our painting technicians are able to precisely match the color of your vehicle.
Because most of today’s paints and finishes require special technique or conditions, painting applications are performed one of our state-of-the art ACCUDRAFT downdraft spray booths. The downdraft current of air circulating in the booth during the painting and baking process prevents overspray and keeps dust out of the finish. This technique ensures a smooth, uniform durable finish, backed with a PPG warranty.
